TURN RIGHT AT LAND'S END

Read the first and true walk around the entire coastline of Britain - England, Wales and Scotland.  7,000 mile in 10 months. The ground breaking story of how it was planned and walked in this factual book. All done on foot, hugged the coastline completely and no ferries used - just 3 pairs of boots.  HE DID IT THE PURE AND CORRECT WAY, ALL ON FOOT.

My rules were simple - in England and Wales follow the nearest right os way to coast and can legally walk below the high tide mark. In Scotland you can walk anywhere one, but a second time you could be trespassing. So was able to follow the coastline fully.

In private parts, military ranges, steel works etc., was given permission to walk the coastline in their area.

The coastline of mainland Britain is 6,160 miles as confirmed to me by the Ordnance Survey. My rule was to walk up all estuaries and used the first road bridge - n motorways and no ferries, all was done on foot. This added a further 800 miles to the walk. The longest was 186 miles - from Spurn Head to Grimsby - only 4 miles away but  via Boothferry Bridge.

The book details the planning, equipment selected and carried, maps needed; an informative diary to each day's walk and maps and overall key points along the route.
